There’s no greater excitement in racing than the unknown ability of Two Year Old babies having their first race starts.
Tomorrow (Tuesday 6 October) will see the start of the Two Year Old racing season at Cluden Park Racecourse with a big field of 14 young horses set to explode from the gates in the $40,000 Pallarenda Stakes.
Townsville Turf Club CEO, Michael Charge said this year with the introduction of the QTIS 600 scheme from Queensland Racing, racing a thoroughbred has never been so attractive, with the winner of Tuesday’s race set to potentially grab $27,000 in prize money for its owners.
“With a bumper crop of horses purchased by North Queenslander’s at the highly successful QTIS 600 sales on the Gold Coast in March, combined with the tremendous prize money on offer for owners, this year’s Two Year Old Racing is set to be one of the biggest and best in years. It is a credit to Queensland Racing that the QTIS 600 scheme and sales has clearly reinvigorated 2 Year Old Racing especially in North Queensland,” Mr Charge said.
Join all the action and excitement with plenty of syndicates of first time owners as they cheer home some great Two Year Olds this Tuesday at Cluden Park Racecourse. The Pallarenda Race Day on Tuesday also features a bumper program of eight local races with big fields and some great horses set to do battle.
Also on the day will be the presentations to the Townsville Turf Club’s Trainer and Jockey of the Year.
