June 2008 marks the launch of a new Website mainly for the benefit of our Members but also for the benefit of the public who want to know what is going on in Racing and Events at the Townsville Turf Club.

Members will be well aware from a recent newsletter, that the Club has a new Marketing & Sponsorship Manager in Donna O'Neill who in a short time is doing wonders with our internet and website communications. I am sure that you are going to see our Website as being more user-friendly and more interactive and with more meaningful information than previously. Should you have any suggestions or are looking for some further information, I am sure Donna would love to hear from you.

We are fast approaching our Carnival period and it could be said that the Parry Nissan day, on Queen's Birthday weekend, kicks off our Winter Carnival Racing.

A big part of our success with our Winter Racing Carnivals has been our Fashions. The Club, this year, has made a conscious decision to take back control of our Fashion Competition so all those with an interest in the Fashion Stakes should be on the lookout for announcements regarding criteria, sections and how to enter. It is going to be better and different to last year. The Club is committed to taking our Fashions back to traditional Race-wear and to parading the winners prior to the running of the Jupiters Townsville Cup.

No doubt there will be a lot of information on our new-look website. Members are encouraged to look at the Website to ensure you are abreast of what is happening at Cluden Park and when the major events are on.
