Racing Queensland has confirmed the following changes to the racing schedule Cluden is back in action:
The meeting scheduled for Thursday 21 February meet cancelled and, as a result,the following changes have been made to programs at race meetings in the Leichhardt and Far North regions:
MACKAY TC – Saturday 23 Feb – 2 additional races:
- Maiden Plate SW 1050m, $19,000
- Class 3 Plate SW 1300m, $19,000
This 8-race meeting will now be run with ‘showcase’ status and prize money for all races on the program is $19,000.
CAIRNS JC – Tuesday 26 Feb – 1 additional race :
- QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate 950m, $19,000 + applicable QTIS bonuses
This meeting will now comprises an 8-race program.
Racing Queensland has also confirmed that the following travel subsidies will be paid in respect of each of the aforementioned race meetings:
MACKAY TC - 23 February
1 x $250 per meeting for trainers domiciled in Townsville or north of Townville, including Charters Towers, and
1 x $150 per meeting for riders domiciled in Townsville or north of Townville, including Charters Towers.
CAIRNS JC - 26 February
1 x $250 per meeting for trainers domiciled in Townsville or south Townville;
and
1 x $150 per meeting for riders domiciled in Townsville or south of Townsville.
Racing Queensland is working to find alternative venues for the Townsville TC meetings scheduled for March but confirms that all 4 will be run. They include:
• Saturday 2 March
• Friday 15 March
• Friday 22 March
• Saturday 30 March
Once the replacement venues are finalised, information will be sent by Racing Queensland to industry via email, Facebook and its website. It is envisaged that this will take place within 7 days.
